The upcoming Tesla Roadster is a 100% electric vehicle with a range of more than 200 miles.
Electric cars store their energy in rechargeable battery packs, often comprised of lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride or lead-acid batteries. Motors driving the wheels draw from those storage cells, creating clean, emissions-free motion. Of course, electric cars must be plugged into the grid and recharged, but compared to petroleum-powered internal combustion engines, electric systems operate much more efficiently, with even greater potential as electricity generation techniques get cleaner and leaner.
Imagine commuting to work and back without burning a single drop of gasoline. Even better, imagine that the electricity used in that commute was derived from renewable, natural sources such as wind, water, sunlight or biofuel. Electric cars create this possibility; once the supporting infrastructure is in place, the reality will be realized.

The Zap-X is another strong upcoming competitor in the eletric vehicle marketplace.
Earthcars shares the vision held by today’s manufacturers of electric vehicles: to provide clean, efficient transportation that is accessible to all drivers. And with companies like Tesla, CommuterCars, Mullen and Zap! in the mix, who says EV drivers can’t have fun once in awhile all the time!
